BA (Hons) Business and Management for Creatives

The BA (Hons) Business and Management for Creatives is designed to develop students' knowledge, skills and understanding of business and management within creative and wider professional contexts. The Level 5 and Level 6 stages provide a clear progression route for students completing the validated CertHE Business and Management for Creatives. The course combines core business and management principles with opportunities to apply learning through creative, practical and live project-based activities. Students will develop their ability to think creatively and critically, analyse complex real-world challenges, and evaluate and implement effective solutions across a range of creative industries and professional settings. Throughout Levels 5 and 6, students will develop a broad range of transferable and professional skills, including critical analysis, creative thinking, problem-solving, decision-making and the practical application of business and management knowledge. The programme is particularly suited to students seeking to strengthen their entrepreneurial and management capabilities alongside their creative thinking, preparing them to respond effectively to the demands of the creative economy and wider employment landscape.

Academic Requirements

Applicants will be required to hold one of the following:

  • A CertHE Business and Management for Creatives awarded by Victoria College of Arts and Design; or

  • An equivalent CertHE or Level 4 higher education qualification from a recognised Higher Education Institution (HEI) in a related subject area.

**Applicants with qualifications from another HEI will be considered on an individual basis. The applicant’s previous learning, including module content and learning outcomes, will be reviewed to determine whether it provides sufficient alignment with the Level 4 learning outcomes of the CertHE Business and Management for Creatives.

English Language Requirements

To meet the demanding academic content of a UK degree, all applicants are required to demonstrate English proficiency at the B2 level or above of the Common European Framework (CEFR).

A wide range of academic English qualifications and English tests are accepted as evidence of applicant’s English language ability, which include:

  • GCSE English Language grade 4/C or above

  • IELTS 5.5 overall

  • Level 2 Functional Skills Qualification in English

  • VCAD Internal English Assessment

Portfolio Requirements (Optional)

(Optional) Applicants can submit a personal 'portfolio', using any one of the following formats:

  • A video or audio recording; using speech, animation, images, or any other appropriate content the candidate wishes. The video must be no less than one minute and no more than two minutes in length.
  • A digital portfolio of images and writing using Word, Canva, PowerPoint or any other suitable software of the applicant's choice.

Portfolio Content:

In the portfolio, applicants should clearly evidence and explain the reasons they wish to study their chosen subject and how they believe their studies can positively impact their lives in the future.

Note: Applicants for the BA (Hons) Fashion Media and Marketing course are not required to provide a personal 'portfolio', unless they wish to do so.
